Winter Time in Iowa

Winter has come to Iowa...it actually came many weeks ago...but these last week has been interesting. We had lots of snow...four to six feet deep, then the sun came out and it was almost 50 degrees and we lost all the snow. Then came 32 degree and ice. I have had to cancel church twice in three weeks. Here is Lou all dressed up to go outside to play in the snice (snow/ice).

Here is what our road looked like after the ice. I couldn't leave the house...thank goodness for the new truck.

They have since re-graveled it, so all who are coming to the house are safe! Crazy weather...can't wait to see what happens next.

Happy New Year 2009

It has been a fabulous holiday season. I was able to spend lots of time with my family, Kim made it out here for a visit, I preached on a quiet and calm Christmas eve, and we all got everything we wanted. It has been a blessing. Here are some of the things I am thankful for this year:

1- An amazing husband who loves me for who I am and understands me (sometimes).

2- Two great children who are brillant, unique, and unafraid to be themselves.

3- Help from my parents and my sister and sister in law. It is awesome to have such a loving and supportive family!

4- A good group of friends who would drop anything to help (and vice versa). There are wonderful people who I can be myself with.

5- School will end in May!! YAY!!

Have a great new year and be thankful for everything!!

Blessings to you all.
